Visitors to the annual Smithsonian Craft Show can view and purchase exemplary work from contemporary artisans who tell the American story through the art of craft. This four-day exhibition held in late April features 120 exhibitors selected for their innovation, creativity and technical merit in one of 12 categories: basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art and wood.
Various special events are held in conjunction with the Smithsonian Craft Show, including a preview benefit night with cocktail buffet, music and first choice shopping, a reception for young professionals, lectures and demonstrations.

The Smithsonian Craft Show is located in the National Building Museum. This year the show will be held from April 14 – 17, 2011.

Travel InformationSmithsonian Craft Show Hours: Preview night, Wednesday, 6:30 – 9:30 pm; Thursday and Friday, 10 am – 8 pm; Admission: $15, children 12 and under free (no strollers). Parking: Metered parking is located on 5th, F, and G Streets (check meter carefully for hours of operation). Nearby parking lots/garages are located on F Street between 6th and 7th Streets, D Street between 8th and 9th Streets, and at the corner of 7th and H Streets.
